DESCRIPTION
Exance is a rapidly expanding MGA that works with a number of insurers to provide different types of capacity to market. We have a growing demand for PI products and we are looking for an experienced PI Underwriter to help us continue the success the business has already experienced.
This role is ideal for an ambitious underwriter with previous experience underwriting PI products and someone who enjoys managing relationships with distributing brokers and the insurers. You will be joining an ever expanding team that is part of a wider group of companies which will only help to take your career to the next level.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Has responsibility for complex account management, risk selection/rejection, pricing, retention, growth and profitability within scope of authority and per company objectives.

Uses independent judgment and initiative to support business goals. Maintains a high level of customer service. Receives and analyses submissions and determines terms to offer (policy limits, deductibles, coverage options and conditions, etc.)

Prices business in accordance with company guidelines. May conduct investigations of new and existing accounts through business owners (banks, owners, creditors, debtors, architects, engineers, criminal record checks, on-site visits, etc.)

Develops and maintains effective business relationships with both internal and external customers / colleagues in order to attract, grow and retain profitable PI business.

Visits business producers and insurers in order to retain existing accounts, builds and maintains business relationships and develops new opportunities in support of company objectives.
COMPLIANCE

Assesses risk quality and compliance within company guidelines. Orders and analyses miscellaneous business reports needed in the rating and underwriting processes, including credit checks, bank agreements, financial statements and underwriting surveys.

Applies underwriting rules and guidelines, rating manual rules, and insurance laws and regulations.

Ownership and continuous review of the compliance plan, ensuring processes are in place for the management and maintenance of client files and monitoring programme.

Prepares effective internal and external communications on underwriting issues and produces monthly MI reports outlining progress against the plan on behalf of the company Board.

Ensure the maintenance of claims, conflicts of interest and complaints registers, putting in place plans to protect the business through training, high levels of service and compliance.
PERSON SPECIFICATION

Excellent understanding of the PI industry with a broad knowledge of PI products

A professional insurance qualification e.g. ACII, or DipCII
-
5+ years experience working within the PI market
-
Ideally trained in auditing with experience of managing and preparing files ensuring compliance
-
Excellent decision making and negotiation skills
-
Ability to build rapport at all levels and communicate effectively

Experience managing for high performance in a fast paced, pressurised environment

This role is ideal for an ambitious underwriter with previous experience underwriting surety products and for someone who enjoys managing relationships with distributing brokers and the insurers. RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages the relationships with key distribution brokers to ensure revenue targets are achieved.

Sources additional product distribution to increase revenue.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated Business Developer to join a highly driven, commission-focused sales team. You will be responsible for prospecting, and developing strong relationships with introducers, offering attractive terms and information relating to the different insurance products available.

THE ROLE
Your main responsibilities will encompass:
- Prospecting and cold calling to generate opportunities to quote;
- Gaining a clear understanding of customers’ businesses and requirements;
- Working to exceed daily, weekly and monthly targets on call volumes; decision maker calls (“DMC’s”) and opportunities to quote;
- Gathering necessary quote information from clients and working closely with Account Manager(s) to ensure a seamless handover and a positive client experience;
- Accurately and efficiently responding to client needs and requirements and providing clients with an excellent service;
- Developing a good knowledge of the products and keeping abreast of competitors, pricing and strategies;
- Updating Compariqo’s CRM system, ensuring all records are accurate and kept up to date;
- Responding to incoming email and phone enquiries;
- Gathering market and customer information including competitor quotes;
- Attending team meetings and sharing best practice and experiences with colleagues.

Desired Skills & Experience of a Business Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES
